As a Senior Window and Door Surveyor & Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficiency of our installations and repairs. You will be responsible for conducting thorough site surveys, diagnosing issues, and implementing effective solutions for uPVC, timber, aluminium, and composite windows and doors. Your hands-on expertise in installing uPVC, timber, and aluminium windows and doors will be key to maintaining the high standards we’re known for. You’ll work independently, ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction in every project.

Essential Criteria
Experienced in surveying windows and doors: You must have proven experience assessing issues and identifying solutions across a range of window and door types, including UPVC, aluminium, and timber.
Experienced in repairing windows and doors: You must be confident in carrying out repairs to all types of windows and doors, including locks, hinges, handles, mechanisms, seals, and general frame repairs.
Must have own hand tools: You are expected to supply a full set of hand tools required for surveying, fitting, and general repair work. Examples include:
Must have own power tools: You must bring your own power tools necessary to carry out installations and repair works.
Highly Desirable: Access to own van (small van acceptable) – Fuel expenses will be fully covered, and quarterly contribution will be made towards ongoing maintenance costs.
Desirable Criteria
Strong knowledge and experience of carpentry and joinery techniques: Ideally, you will have a background in carpentry or joinery, with a solid understanding of construction methods, finishing, and structural adjustments.
CSCS Card: A valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card for site access is preferred and may be required for certain projects.
PASMA / IPAF Certification: Holding valid PASMA (mobile access towers) and/or IPAF (powered access equipment) certification would be advantageous for working safely at height.
Good knowledge of leading suppliers in the window and door sector: Familiarity with well-established brands and suppliers of windows, doors, and associated hardware is beneficial.
Principal Accountabilities
We’re looking for a highly experienced and solutions-driven Senior Surveyor and Engineer to lead on complex window and door surveys, repairs, and installations. This role requires both technical excellence and strong interpersonal skills, with a clear focus on repair and maintenance (75%) and new installations (25%).
You’ll work independently and collaboratively, ensuring that all work meets our high standards for quality, safety, and customer care.
Surveying & Technical Diagnostics: Conduct detailed site surveys to assess existing window and door conditions, identify faults, and recommend appropriate solutions.
Repair and Maintenance (75%): Carry out complex repairs to uPVC, aluminium, timber, and composite windows and doors.
Installation (25%): Install all types of windows and doors (including uPVC, timber, aluminium, and composite), ensuring all work meets our high standards ensuring the correct fitting and finishing in accordance with regulations and client expectations.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of surveys, assessments, and completed work, ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly documented.
Problem-Solving: Proactively troubleshoot installation and repair challenges, providing clear and effective solutions
Customer Service: Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing client concerns, providing advice, and ensuring all jobs are completed to client satisfaction
Working with Vulnerable Customers: Demonstrate patience and understanding when working with vulnerable customers, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported during all stages of the job.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and maintaining safe working practices.
Maintenance: Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in excellent working condition, with appropriate stock levels for each job.
Tool Management: Ensure your own hand and power tools are well-maintained and stocked for each job.
Travel & Flexibility: Travel to various locations as needed, demonstrating flexibility in working across different sites and adapting to diverse job requirements.

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in replacing various mechanisms used in windows and doors, including glazing, locking mechanisms in aluminium doors, hinges in casement windows, or handles in tilt and turn windows. (A/T/I)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fenestration Installation (or equivalent qualification/experience). (A/T/I)
- Full UK driving licence and highly desirable if you have a reliable van for job site travel. (A)
- Must have your own hand and power tools for the role. (A)
